Event Mission Statement
At The 0.K. for Veterans Mental Health, our mission is to connect Colorado veterans and their support networks with the mental health resources they need—clearly, quickly, and at no cost. We bring together mental health organizations and community partners to create a comprehensive, accessible hub of information, ensuring that no veteran feels lost in the system. Through collaboration and outreach, we aim to break down barriers, reduce stigma, and empower those who served—and those who care—to find the support they deserve.
Event Overview: 0.K. for Veterans Mental Health
Every day, an average of 17 veterans die by suicide in the United States. Behind each number is a name, a face, a story—and a life that mattered. The 0.K. for Veterans Mental Health event is a call to action to change this heartbreaking statistic by providing real, accessible solutions for those who need them most. This free, community-focused event is designed to get critical mental health information directly into the hands of Colorado veterans and the people who care about them. It’s a marathon of resources—not a race—where attendees can connect face-to-face with mental health organizations, discover support networks, and learn about services that are often hard to find or navigate alone. Whether you're a veteran in need, a family member looking to help, or a professional offering support, this event creates a vital bridge between service and access. Together, we can reduce stigma, increase awareness, and make sure every veteran knows: it's okay to not be okay—and help is here.
Who Should Attend? Why You Matter.
The 0.K. for Veterans Mental Health event isn’t just for veterans—it's for everyone who wants to be part of the solution.
• Veterans & Active-Duty Military – If you're struggling, curious, or just want to see what's out there, this is your chance to connect directly with organizations that are here to help.
• First Responders – You walk the same line of duty and often face the same invisible wounds. We welcome you to explore mental health resources built for you, too.
• Family & Friends – The people who care often feel helpless. Come learn how to support the veterans and first responders in your life.
• Mental Health Professionals & Organizations – Share your services, make connections, and help break down barriers to access.
• Community Members – You never know when you’ll meet someone who needs this information. Come get equipped to be a bridge for someone else’s healing. Your presence could change a life—even save one. Whether you're seeking support, offering it, or simply want to be informed, this event is for you.
Why This Event Matters
For too many veterans, asking for help feels like a battle in itself. Stigma, confusion, and isolation can keep them from reaching the support that could change—or even save—their lives. The 0.K. for Veterans Mental Health event exists to break that cycle. This event is about access—not just to resources, but to understanding, community, and hope. It's about removing red tape and putting real tools into the hands of those who need them, when they need them. It’s about being proactive, not reactive. Mental health isn't just a personal issue—it’s a community responsibility. Veterans have served us; now it’s our turn to serve them by making sure they know they’re not alone, and that help is not only available, but easy to find. By coming together, sharing space, and connecting directly, we create more than an event—we create momentum toward healing.
What to Expect
The 0.K. for Veterans Mental Health event is designed to be informative, approachable, and empowering—with a little something for everyone.
Here's what you'll find throughout the day:
Live Panel Chats – Hear directly from mental health organizations as they share what they do, who they help, and how to reach them. These panels give insight into resources you might not even know exist—and how to access them right now.
One-on-One Booths – Each organization will have a booth where you can ask questions, pick up information, and make personal connections. No pressure, no red tape —just real people who are ready to help.
Equine Therapy Experience – Come see the healing power of horses in action. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with therapy animals and learn how equine programs can support mental wellness in truly unique ways.
Food Trucks & More – Grab a bite, take a break, and enjoy a welcoming atmosphere built for community and connection.
