Mental Health Treatments we Fund
In the battlefields of their minds, many veterans and first responders endure silent struggles against debilitating mental health issues including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, depression and anxiety. The Invictus Project is a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that steps into the fray to procure scholarship funds for groundbreaking mental healthcare that rebuilds, restores and ultimately saves lives.
We provide access to innovative and revolutionary treatment options that include: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, Ketamine Infusion Therapy, Psychedelic Interventions and more, new emerging therapies. By bridging the gap, we hope to restore and empower life-changing transformations that prevent the ongoing tragedy of service member and first responder suicide.

Ketamine infusion therapy
Ketamine Infusion Therapy is one of the most powerful antidepressant and antianxiety drugs available today. Common medications used to treat depression regulate serotonin levels whereas ketamine focuses on NMDA receptors to increase the brain’s most powerful chemical messenger: glutamate levels.
By doing so, it restores and strengthens vital neural connections and pathways resulting in positive brain circuit function and improved mood regulation. Studies indicate that it can decrease inflammation in the brain and there are substantial positive impacts on brain cells with just a single dose.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a non-invasive treatment that involves breathing concentrated oxygen inside a pressurized chamber. This increases oxygen levels in the blood which improves brain function, proving beneficial for treating depression, anxiety and PTSD.
By hyperoxygenating blood plasma and increasing the amount of stem cells your bone marrow can produce, HBOT provides the body and brain additional resources to heal. This also promotes neuroplasticity, increasing the brain’s ability to form new connections, adapt to changes and reduce overall inflammation.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is the most effective, FDA approved, non drug therapy used for depression. By placing a MRI coil inside a wand or helmet, TMS creates a magnetic field in your brain, stimulating brain matter and allowing neurons to cluster more densely.
This process reinforces underpowered areas of the brain that are underfunctioning in patients with TBI and major depressive disorder. TMS typically targets the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, an area involved in mood regulation..

Culturally Competent Talk Therapy
It’s back to basics, but it works. This straightforward yet effective therapy allows for combat vets to talk to combat vets or first responders that truly understand each other’s trauma related experiences and obstacles.
Speaking to a traditional therapist can feel ostracizing and we understand that most mental health professionals may have not walked in your shoes. By sharing stories with other vets/first responders, it can be reassuring and therapeutic in a way that no one else can possibly understand.

Psychedelic Therapies
MDMA & Psilocybin have been effective in treating treatment-resistant depression and PTSD by encouraging the growth of new connections and neurons in the brain.
The Invictus Project supports veterans and first responders by funding access to innovative, evidence-based mental healthcare, including psychedelic medicine delivered through vetted programs. These programs are carefully selected to ensure they provide psychedelic therapies in a medically supervised, culturally competent manner that prioritizes safety, effectiveness and respect for the unique backgrounds of those who serve.
By championing access to these transformative treatments, The Invictus Project helps restore hope and improve the quality of life for those facing PTSD, traumatic brain injury, depression and anxiety.
